Zero-waste never tasted so good!

Last month on August 27, Sustainable Seattle volunteers supported the NewBelgium Clips of Faith beer and film tour at Gas Works Park by providing the compost, recycling, and trash bins, making it a zero-waste event. With help from CleanScapes, over 200 pounds of waste was kept out of the trash! But that wasn’t the only highlight; all proceeds went to the Nature Consortium while participants enjoyed tasting New Belgium beer throughout the night while watching homemade movies that reflected sustainable behavior in many different ways (recycled clothing fashion shows, skateboarding, biking…) It was a perfect Seattle summer evening for laying down a blanket with friends and enjoying some good entertainment (and good beer!) in the outdoors. If you missed it this year, don’t worry, it will be back in 2013. In the meantime, stay tuned to Sustainable Seattle’s website to learn about, and get involved in, other sustainable events in Seattle!
