Pike Pub Fundraising Event

Did you hear all that raucous cheering coming from the Pike Place Market last Friday night? It was because people were cheering for Sustainable Seattle, of course!

Ok, so it may have been rooting for the Cardinals… or the Rangers, since it was the World Series and all, but people in the Museum Room (the back bar) at Pike Pub Brewery, hand-crafted brew in hand, were supporting sustainability efforts whether they knew it or not, with 15% of all beer sales going to Sustainable Seattle.

Kicking off the night, brewery tours led guests around the restaurant and underground where the frothy goodness comes to life. On these tours, guests got an interactive taste for how Pike brew is made and an inside scoop on the business’ commitment to sustainability. Very cool!

The baseball game may have trumped the planned night of trivia, but everyone seemed to have an excellent time drinking great beer and supporting Sustainable Seattle’s mission of being a catalyst and resource for regional sustainability. Materials about our programs were handed out, highlighting Rain Gardens and the Happiness Initiative, which everyone seemed very excited about.

If you missed our fundraiser at the Pike Brewery last Friday night, but still want to support our efforts, have no fear! We are holding our annual Awards Dinner from 6-8:30pm on December 7, 2011 at the Duwamish Longhouse and tickets are on sale now here!

A big thank you goes out to Pike Brewery for hosting such an amazing event, with a special kudos to Tara Shuttleworth for all of her dedicated, hard work getting this event organized with us. We also couldn't have raised nearly $175 without all of those that came to support us-- so thank you for being there!
